DIRECTOR’S Notes:

When we met Maureen, we were struck by her soft-spoken passion for the natural beauty of the nearby ocean. She walks the shoreline nearly every day and, almost without trying, finds sea glass: sharp edges worn smooth by tumbling, relentless surf. Their beauty is their resilience; their durability is their strength. Maureen, who has been living with a chronic disease her entire life, exemplifies this strength, resilience, and beauty in the face of ongoing challenge, just like the sea glass - which we used as as a focusing theme of her story.
